
An MHK asked the nationalities of people who where given exemptions to receive benefits, despite not meeting residency requirements.
Normally, you need to be born on the island, live here continuously for five years or for three periods totalling ten years - but exceptions can be made in cases of hardship.
Member for Ramsey Lawrie Hooper asked the question for written response from Treasury Minister Alex Allinson, who revealed that of the 14 who received benefits in these cases, eight were from the UK or Republic of Ireland.
Five were from Europe, and one from elsewhere in the world.
