It costs £383 to stay in a police cell overnight.
The figures were revealed in Tynwald yesterday by Home Affairs Minister Juan Watterson.
Middle MHK Howard Quayle wanted to know what percentage of police cells were used as a result of people drinking or taking drugs.
He was told exact figures for the last five years weren’t available but that last year 643 people had stayed overnight and were intoxicated.
