MHK unsuccessful in bid to stop retirement age changes

The Public Sector Pensions Authority will not reconsider its position on early retirement, despite the best efforts of a back bench MHK.

Chris Robertshaw had concerns with the minimum retirement age for public servants being upped from 55 to 58.

He didn't like the discrepency between that increase, and the minimum age staying the same for public sector workers.

Despite not supporting the change Tynwald did back a commitment from MHK John Shimmin to have the negotiations finished by the end of the year, and a report back to Tynwald by next February.
