The Department for Enterprise should be monitoring which businesses on Island are going insolvent.
That's the verdict of Douglas North MHK David Ashford, who questioned Minister Tim Johnston in the House of Keys this week on the issue.
Mr Ashford raised the topic out of concern for the number of businesses closing, about to close or in serious trouble that has reached out to him.
He said with a better understanding of the issues behind the closures the department will be better placed to offer guidance and support to help stave off this outcome:
