Onchan MHK Peter Karran has tabled a number of Tynwald questions today relating to the Island’s Attorney General’s Chambers.
He will ask acting Attorney General John Quinn if there are plans to seek an amendment to the law which will allow juries to return majority verdicts.
Last week it was confirmed that the UK Ministry of Justice is expected to extend Mr Quinn’s role after the suspension of his predecessor.
Mr Karran will also ask him for more details about the suspension of staff members from the chambers and at what cost that has been to the public purse.
He says he’s got concerns over government accountability:
Six new buses to replace 14 year old ones
Record number of seal pups recorded
Proposed laws could mean free period products
Unemployment fell slightly last month
GP waiting times to be raised in House of Keys tomorrow
Waves higher than predicted on crossing which damaged cars
Spitfire flights to be launched from Ronaldsway
Does Crogga owe the government money?
