Plans to stop paying out child benefit at local Post Office counters are ‘outrageous’ according to a Douglas North MHK.
John Houghton is claiming that those in receipt of the benefit will have to have it paid through a bank account from April 1st.
Means testing of child benefit is being brought in by the Department of Social Care.
Today, Mr Houghton will ask Tynwald to support his motion to maintain the ability to cash in benefits in the normal way.
