Hazardous waste spilled on the way from Peel Marina to the quarry site on Poortown Road has incensed local residents - and will be expensive to clean up.
Potentially contaminated mud has been deposited across streets and pavements in and around Peel.
Trucks carrying silt have also been seen queuing on the road - contradicting the Department of Infrastructure's risk review.
German Parish Commissioners says it's disappointed that the work has started before a public consultation was undertaken and sound environmental protection measures have been put in place.
The commissioners have called a public meeting on 16th April at 7:30pm in St. Johns Methodist Hall.
