A politician wants to find out under what circumstances school students can be off for weeks without a written request.
Rushen MHK Juan Watterson has tabled a Tynwald question for written reply to Education Minister Daphne Caine.
He wants to know how absences can be properly looked into if they aren't documented.
The minister is due to reply by Wednesday, April 1.
