Douglas North MHK Complains About Level of Error in New Look Bus Timetable
MHK’s John Houghton and Bill Henderson will be hosting a meeting tonight to give members of the public their chance to have their voices heard in relation to the recent over haul of the Island’s Bus timetable.
MHK Houghton has said that he has been inundated with complaints from members of his constituency about what he calls a serious number of omissions from the new timetable, saying the services to Willaston in particular have been decimated.
Community, Culture and Leisure Minister David Cretney has refuted claims that Willaston is no longer served saying nothing could be further from the truth, he also said that after a 3 month period the timetable wil be reviewed and any glitches will be ironed out.
Minister Cretney will not be in attendance at tonights meeting, saying he'd rather deal with any of the public's problems on a personal level.
Mr Houghton referred to the changed timetable as a muddle, and has said he will be urging Tynwald to launch an enquiry to find out how the errors he's referred too were allowed to happen:
