MHK Peter Karran says he remains confident he can raise enough money to buy back a youth centre in Onchan that he helped establish.
He's attempting to raise £100,000 to purchase Kenyon’s Café in the village which he sold to the commissioners in 2005.
The local authority now plans to sell the site and build other youth services in the district.
The leader of the Liberal Vannin Party hosted a public meeting on the issue last week and believes he has the support of Onchan residents:
