John Wannenburg said the "wolf is at the door" for some island residents.
The success of the island's new administration hinges on how it tackles the "burning issue" of fuel and food poverty over the next few weeks.
That's the statement from MHK John Wannenburg in response to the publication of the government's five-year plan.
The Douglas North representative supports the paper as a blue-print for future success but believes there are more immediate issues to deal with.
He said for many "the wolf is already at the door" with hospital waiting lists "stretching before us, our roads are breaking down, our rivers are silting up, our minimum wage too low and inflation too high.
Mr Wannenburgh added: "Our hospitality & Entertainment sectors - if they were patients they would both be in intensive care".
