An MHK has requested figures on sexual offence prosecutions and convictions over the past five years.
Douglas East MHK Joney Faragher has submitted a written question to Justice and Home Affairs Minister Jane Poole-Wilson for the data.
Ms Faragher wants information on sentencing outcomes, including custodial, suspended and community sentences, as well as statutory maximum penalties and comparisons with neighbouring jurisdictions.
She's also asking the Minister to commit to regularly publishing sentencing data for sexual offences.
