Police have arrested an 18-year-old from the Merseyside area for Class A drug offences.
The St Helen's man was arrested earlier this week for two counts of shoplifting.
A subsequent search found he had twenty wraps of heroin in his possession - he was taken to Noble's Hospital because the drugs were secreted internally.
Following an interview at Police Headquarters yesterday he was charged with possession with intent to supply heroin.
He has been charged with supplying £14,000 worth of the drug over a six-month period.
Police say they will continue to target individuals involved in the importation and onward distribution of controlled drugs.
The man is appearing in court today.
