TT rider Steve Mercer has undergone surgery for pelvic and leg injuries.
The 36-year-old was transferred to hospital in Liverpool after a collision with a course car at Ballacrye on Wednesday.
His wife, Caroline took to social media to reveal the extent of his injuries - she confirmed the racer has broken his ankle, heel, and vertebrae and he's unable to breathe unassisted.
Doctors are keeping him sedated while he recovers.
In the post, she also thanked all those who have sent messages of support.
