A community group is launching a series of workshops to train people to spot the signs of mental health issues.
The Southern Community Partnership (SCP) will begin the workshops this year looking to teach others how to detect the symptoms of if someone is struggling, offer initial help and be able to guide a person towards support.
The Mental Health First Aid sessions - the organisation says - is not asking people to become psychiatrists or therapists but teach others to listen, reassure and respond even in a crisis.
Sessions will take place over two days each month up to April taking place in Ballasalla, Castletown, Port Erin and Port St Mary - for costs and more details you're asked to contact Janet on 838 180.
