Securing a future for the Isle of Man Meat Plant is a 'high priority'.
That's according to the new Environment, Food and Agriculture Minister who says work has started on a new strategy for the facility.
Geoffrey Boot was quizzed in Tynwald last week about his plans to address the 21 per cent decline in agriculture, forestry and fishing.
The figures - from the 2014 and 2015 National Income Accounts - have recently been published but have already been branded as out of date.
Mr Boot says it's difficult to predict the future but he is committed to working with the industry as a whole:
