Manx Electricity Authority workers stepped in to help thousands of customers who have been without power in Northern Ireland. Staff from all over the British Isles were called to help when over 130,000 homes were without power in Northern Ireland. The power cuts started last Thursday, after snow, heavy rain and gales cut power to many residents. Parts of the Isle of Man were without power for part of the day, but after the problems here were fixed, teams were dispatched to the Ballymena area. The team have just returned home this morning after reinstating power to most of the residents in that area of Ireland.
