A local man is aiming to swim for 24 hours across a lake in a bid to raise £50,000 for The Children's Centre and Rebecca House children's Hospice.
Martin Malone will be taking on the "Big Swim" challenge at the St Andrews lakes in Rochester Kent, stopping only to eat and drink.
The event will take place on September 6.
Martin said he hopes the funds he can raise will "help cover the significant operating costs of two charities that provide critical care and support to children and families".
So far, he's reached almost £4,000 in donations on his fundraising page.
