Cav Still A Favourite For Stage Wins This Week
Despite a disappointing placing in today’s first race Mark Cavendish is hoping to get his 2011 season off to a flying start in the Santos Tour Down Under in Australia.
Today’s race didn’t quite suit Cav’s sprint style and he had to settle for a 62nd placing with his HTC teammate Matt Goss claiming the victory.
Cav has been in a strict training programme since November and has claimed he’s in the best shape he’s ever been in for January.
He’s tipped to feature prominently in the rest of the races this week with a lot of hype surrounding the rivalry between himself and fellow sprinter, and former teammate, Andre Greipel.
The tour will be going on till next Sunday.
