Developers have hit back against claims that plans for a marina in Ramsey would have "negative ecological implications".
The statement, from the Manx Wildlife Trust (MWT), was in response to proposals for a £100 million marina complex in Ramsey.
The charity has opposed any development on the town's south beach, which is in a nature reserve.
A spokesman for Ramsey Marina Limited (RML) said the trust's statements were "exaggerated and misleading".
He added that there had been very little discussion between the two parties about marine ecology and the MWT hadn't provided any evidence to support their claims.
RML summarise their statement by proposing their Environmental Impact Assessment, which will be publicly available when complete, should be allowed to quantify any ecological issues.
