Manxman has made its first virtual visit to the new Liverpool ferry terminal.
The Steam Packet Company says some officers recently took a trip to simulator facilities in the Netherlands to try some navigation scenarios on a virtual model of the vessel.
They were able to safely test approaches to Liverpool and Heysham ports in different weather and tidal conditions.
The company says this experience feeds into risk assessments for the real world.
