The chairman of Manx2 Noel Hayes says he's devastated for the families of those who lost their lives in a crash yesterday.
6 people died, and 6 others were injured when an aircraft crashed on it's third attempt at landing at Cork Airport.
It had been hanging for 20 minutes in thick fog before attempting the fatal landing.
Noel Hayes told 3FM it is an utter tragedy. He was mid flight when the tragedy happened so was unaware until he arrived back in the UK last night.
The Manx2 Chairman is working closely with aviation authorities to find out exactly what caused the crash and said there is some crucial evidence at the scene. The black box and the flight voice recorder are intact at the scene of the accident which should help find a speedy resolution.
Mr Hayes has confirmed that Manx2 still aim to provide that service between Belfast and Cork, which they started last August.
He is on his way to Cork today to meet with the experts to put all of the facts together to hopefully come to a rapid conclusion.
Cork Airport will remain closed until at least this afternoon.
