Manx Telecom is currently undertaking emergency repairs in Peel to make the site safe ahead of the Parish Walk.
The Department of Infrastructure says the work is taking place on the exit near the Headlands on Ramsey Road.
It adds that work will resume next week in order to permanently fix the problem, and it's not known exactly how long these works will take.
As a result, surfacing work that was scheduled to take place in the area has been suspended.
