A number of Manx people have contributed to a major study looking into people’s genetic make-up.
The ‘People of the British Isles’ research project collected blood samples from volunteers during a visit to the Isle of Man this week.The data will be compared to that of people from England, Wales, Ireland and Scotland to shed light on ancient migrations and to help medical research.
Sir Walter Bodmer is leading the project – he told us what the research team expects to find:
