The Manx National Heritage have revealed the findings of two pieces of research they carried out into the Island's visitor economy.
The first of its kind study looks into the value that heritage provides to the Island's economy.
Following an extensive review of strategic documents it was determined that last year the MNH contributed £23 million of the Island's Gross Domestic Product, accounting for 1.5% of the total GDP.
With regards to employment opportunities it was determined 800 people are employed by MNH, representing 2.5% of total employment on the Island.
In the forthcoming financial year they will receive in the region of £3.8 million of Government funding.
