The Manx Museum in Douglas could be in line for some refurbishments, if planning officials give the green light.
Manx National Heritage is looking to install a new hangar door to allow large exhibition items to be brought in or out the premises at the basement gallery level.
Meanwhile, proposals have also been put forward to replace a temporary lift and ramp inside the venue with a new setup to improve access for visitors and staff.
MNH is also hoping to reconfigure an external fire escape on the outside of the building which would allow them to create another fire exit from the basement gallery.
