Manx Independent Carriers says it’s doing its best to get perishables and parcels to the Island in time for Christmas.
Bad weather, and cancelled Steam Packet sailings, means there’s a backlog of freight waiting at Heysham.
On Saturday the company shipped around 16 Marks and Spencer trailers full of fresh food to the Island – and is hoping to bring more in on the later sailings today.
The race is on to get food items to the shops before the end of their shelf life – one trailer can carry around £100,000 of food.
