As it stands Manx residents won't, from April, be covered if  they have an accident in the UK unless they take out travel insurance.

There are fears that this could prove extremely difficult for those already with illnesses or the elderly.

The meeting today is with UK Health Secretary Andy Burnham, it's to see if the United Kingdom Government can be persuaded to change its mind, although he has already said that he won't reconsider the decision to terminate the agreement.

The UK government have been adamant that the health agreement will end on March the 31st.

Tony Brown intends to make a statement to Tynwald when he gets back from London.
