The 'Gaswork steps' could close for up to four weeks.
Manx Utilities has applied for the closure to carry out 'essential repairs'.
The work is due to start on Monday, July 5.
During the works, three-way traffic lights will be in place for 1 day on the lifting bridge roundabout to accommodate large vehicles.
