Aswell as that strong placing he currently sits third in the young rider’s competition, just 22 seconds off the classification leader.

His 24th placing in yesterday’s stage 5 saw him become the highest ranked Briton in the event.

They’re in action today in a 116km rolling stage from Orvieto to Fiuggi.
