Manx Care is to put in a bid for extra funding, after a £7 million overspend.
The Health department said it's down to the rising costs of drugs, high levels of staff absence (requiring cover from agency staff) and an over-budget spend on patient transfer.
It's to seek approval for an extra £10 million (which includes a contingency) at the March sitting of Tynwald.
Health Minister, Lawrie Hooper said the pandemic has brought significant pressures on Manx Care, and the team has worked exceptionally hard to deliver services during a challenging time.
Teresa Cope from Manx Care said they are "working hard to deliver an efficient, compassionate and responsive health and social care service for the people of the Isle of Man.
"We continue our efforts to fulfill our aspiration to become the best small-Island health and care system in the world".
