Manx Care is cutting the number of beds at Ramsey District Cottage Hospital by 30 per cent.
The Island's health care provider has announced beds in the North of the Island will reduce from 31 to 20.
It says occupancy’s dropped due to a 'number of factors', such as more rehab being done at home.
Further, Manx Care claims extra community services mean quicker recovery and fewer hospital stays.
It maintains despite the drop, there will be no staff redundancies.
