Manx Care is removing the requirement to do a PCR test and isolate before having surgery.
It's now requested patients due for a surgical or diagnostic procedure do a lateral flow test on the day instead.
If the result is positive you are not to attend the hospital and should contact the relevant ward or department to let them know you can't make it.
Certain procedures may still require a PCR test, but patients will be informed if this applies to them.
The change comes as Manx Care says it realises how disruptive the current requirements are and the demand it places on the swabbing and testing capacity.
