Manx athletes honoured

Elite athletes on the Isle of Man have this week been honoured for their sporting achievements.

The Isle of Man Sports Awards were held on Wednesday and saw 'Manx Missile' Mark Cavendish ride off with the Sportsman of the Year accolade.

Sportswoman of the Year went to swimmer Charlotte Atkinson who became a British Champion in 2016.

Guest of honour at the event was Olympic gold medallist, and hockey team captain, Kate Richardson-Walsh - she says it's important that sports people are good role models:
