52-year-old John Meadows of Allerton in Liverpool was due to be committed to the Court of General Gaol Delivery on July 25, but the prosecution said that the committal can now take place on July 2.
Jill Hughes, aged 57, from Liverpool, died after an alleged assault outside the Palace Hotel and Casino on Central Promenade in Douglas on March 29.
Meadows is yet to enter a plea to the charge and is remanded at the Isle of Man Prison.
