A 53 year old Liverpool man accused of manslaughter has been committed to the Court of General Gaol Delivery.
John Meadows, of Verney Crescent, Allerton, appeared at Douglas Courthouse via video link from the Isle of Man Prison this morning and is yet to enter a plea to the charge.
He will appear at the higher court on a date to be set.
Jill Hughes, aged 57, from Liverpool, died after an alleged assault outside the Palace Hotel and Casino on Central Promenade in Douglas on March 29.
No bail application was made and the defendant is remanded at the prison.
