The Manannan is set to be docked for the winter as of next the end of this week.
The Manannan's 2016 season comes to an end on Sunday so the boat will be put out of service until at least the end of the year.
The boat used to moor in Merseyside over winter but will instead dock in Douglas Harbour as it did last year.
The Steam Packet says although the Ben-my-Chree is a 'very reliable vessel' they have taken to strategic decision to keep Manannan in Douglas to reduce the time it takes to resume passenger services should any damage or technical issues affect the Ben-my-Chree.
The Ben-my-Chree and MV Arrow will operate through the winter as normal.
