Patients care plans on the ward at the mental health in-patient facility Manannan Court need urgent improvement.
That's according to that latest findings of an independent report, conducted by Dr Tommy Dickinson - looking into the facility.
The external review was commissioned by the Department of Health and Social Care in light of historical concerns about services at Manannan Court’s Harbour Suite.
The report stated care plans seen by Dr Dickinson didn't appear to be evidence-based or developed in collaboration with the patient.
It also added some staff have been on the same ward for many years; which has shown to have a detrimental effect.
However, the report did state training and development of staff in how to assess and manage the risk of suicide has made ‘reasonable progress’
