Man without driving licence convicted of drink driving

A Douglas man who doesn't have a driving licence has been convicted of drink driving.

26-year-old Kieran Williams appeared at Douglas Courthouse earlier this week where he also pleaded guilty to having no insurance.

Police were called to reports of a crash on Heather Crescent at 2.40am on Monday - officers found a BMW parked in a sunken pathway surrounding a property there.

Williams failed a roadside breath test and was arrested and taken to Police Headquarters where he was tested again.

That reading showed he had 52 micrograms of alcohol per 100ml of breath - the legal limit is 35.

Williams, who doesn't have a licence due to a medical condition, has had his case adjourned for reports to be compiled - he is due to be sentenced on March 3rd.
