A man who borrowed his grandmother’s car but rolled it over has admitted he wasn’t insured to drive it.
Jake Plant of the Ballamodha Straight in Ballasalla appeared before magistrates at Douglas Courthouse.
Representing himself, the 20 year old admitted driving without due care and attention and having no insurance on August 1 last year.
Prosecutor Barry Swain told the hearing Plant had crashed a VW Polo on Braaid Road, losing control and rolling it over.
He later told police he couldn’t explain how the crash had happened.
Magistrates fined him a total of £1,000 and imposed seven penalty points on his licence as well as ordering him to pay £50 costs.
