The UK government has blocked the imminent release of the man who murdered his estranged wife Joanna Simpson.
The victim grew up on the Isle of Man and still had family and friends here.
Joanna was 46 when she was bludgeoned to death and buried in a shallow grave by Robert Brown in October 2010 in Berkshire.
Her mother Diana, who still lives on the Island has campaigned tirelessly for the former BA pilot to remain in jail, branding him a pyschopath and a danger to anyone he comes into contact with.
His release was blocked using powers introduced to protect people from dangerous offenders, it has now been referred to the Parole Board.
