A Douglas man who was spotted by police driving over a stop sign - without stopping - will be sentenced next month.
29-year-old Jamie Mark Smith, of Bridge Road, failed to appear at court last week after being charged with the offence.
Magistrates found the case against him proved in his absence.
Officers spotted him driving over the stop sign at the junction of Summerhill just before 10.30pm on October 29th last year.
They followed his Mercedes and stopped him on Queen's Promenade - alerting him to the fact he'd be reported for the offence.
Smith has now been required to appear in court for sentencing on May 4th.
