Driving without tax or insurance has cost a Douglas man almost £1,000.
David Curtis of Queen’s Promenade appeared before magistrates at Douglas Courthouse.
The 51 year old admitted having no tax or insurance for his Range Rover on Royal Terrace in the capital on September 23.
Prosecutor James Robinson said the vehicle’s tax disc had run out in 2016 and Curtis told police he hadn’t realised it was untaxed.
He also mistakenly thought an insurance policy on another car covered him to drive the Range Rover, which he’d bought in May for £9,000.
Magistrates fined him a total of £900, ordered him to pay £50 in costs and put six penalty points on his licence.
