The inquest into the death of a local musician who died at the Chasms has heard he died from massive blunt force trauma.

51-year-old Roger Leece was seen to go 'over the cliff' in Cregneash on January 7th.

At Douglas Courthouse yesterday the court was told a post-mortem showed he'd received multiple fractures and trauma to his head, torso and limbs.

The Union Mills man's ex-partner attended the inquest and thanked the court and police for the respect and handling of the situation.

Coroner of Inquests John Needham expressed his condolences to the family and released the body so funeral arrangements can take place.

The inquest was then adjourned to a date to be fixed.
