A drunken man who kicked a man in the head, breaking his jaw in three places, will be sentenced in May.
Ryan Lee Daly of Cronkbourne Village in Douglas appeared before High Bailiff Jayne Hughes at Douglas Courthouse.
The 24 year old pleaded guilty to a single count of assault causing grievous bodily harm at a taxi rank on Victoria Street in Douglas on February 12.
Prosecutor Barry Swain told the hearing Daly's victim had undergone surgery and had to have their jaw wired shut after the attack.
Daly punched the man to the ground, and one witness told police he'd kicked the man's head like a rugby ball as he lay on the floor.
Mrs Hughes bailed him in the sum of £500 until he appears again for sentencing on May 5.
