A man who slapped a woman after following her in Peel in the early hours of the morning has been remanded to the Isle of Man prison.
42 year old Daniel James Carnochan appeared before magistrates at Douglas Courthouse.
He pleaded guilty to assaulting his ex-girlfriend in Lake Lane in Peel on October 29, 2020.
The court heard Carnochan had been following the woman as she walked to a friend’s house in Peel at around 1.30am – he approached her and demanded to know where she was going.
When she replied, he accused her of lying and slapped her to the ground before a witness heard the noise and pulled him off her.
Magistrates refused a bail application and remanded him in custody until he appears again for sentencing on June 20.
