A man’s walked free from court after prosecutors withdrew an allegation he strangled his girlfriend until she passed out.
Nicholas John Trigg of Hillside Avenue in Douglas appeared before magistrates at Douglas Courthouse.
The 49 year old denied assault causing actual bodily harm on February 27 but prosecutor Hazel Carroon offered no evidence in the case.
Magistrates marked the allegation as formally discharged, and awarded more than £1,100 in costs.
