A man who kicked five wing mirrors off cars parked in Douglas later threatened to damage a police vehicle.
David William Atkinson of Church Road Marina in Douglas appeared before magistrates at Douglas Courthouse.
He admitted five counts of criminal damage, one of threatening to damage property and one of theft.
The court heard the 32 year old stole clothing worth nearly £650 from Sports Direct on December 28, later smashing five wing mirrors along Finch Road before making threats to police.
There was no application for bail and magistrates adjourned the case while pre-sentencing reports are prepared.
Atkinson was remanded in custody and will appear in court again on January 9.
