A man has been sentenced in court today for causing death by dangerous driving back in September 2009.
42 year old Stephen Darren Callow from Douglas received a 12-month custodial sentence, suspended for 2 years, a 3-year disqualification from driving and a requirement to re-take his test, in addition to £2000 costs.
The fatal accident happened on Ballaquayle Road on 16th September 2009, the deceased was riding a motorbike at the time.
The police have issued a statement saying it’s been a detailed, protracted investigation and ultimately they’re happy that a conviction has been recorded.
