A former Island resident seeking a 'fresh start' ended up in court just a day after returning to Manx shores.
Greg Michael Galbraith, of no fixed abode, appeared at Douglas Courthouse on Thursday.
He admitted being drunk in a public place on June 18.
Police arrested Galbraith just before 3pm on Monday after reports of a disturbance at his mother's home on Watterson Lane.
Officers were told the pair hadn't seen each other for five years and Galbraith had become abusive and threatening towards her.
His advocate told the court he'd returned to the Island for a "fresh start" to escape problems in the UK caused by his "drug problem and drug debt".
Magistrates imposed a 12-month conditional discharge telling the 32 year old "It's not a very good start to your return to the Isle of Man."
